ROG in one minute
Rise of Governors is Travian: Legends’ 2026 Annual Special. Its Ancient Europe map makes regional competition central to the round: alliances pursue Victory Points across 87 regions. The new Governors, Season Pass and Shards add progression beyond a single village.
Cleopatra, the first Governor, boosts crop production where she is active. Unlocks belong to your lobby account; her world-level progression is separate. Read the official ROG overview for the progression systems and the full mechanics for the ruleset.
For an alliance, the practical question is where to build and fight. A large account does not automatically give you a regional majority. Population has to be in the right region, and stored Victory Points make individual villages strategically valuable.
Case study 1: 22.6% of tracked accounts are on ROG
At 00:01 UTC on 24 October 2026, our sample contains 39,872 ROG accounts out of 176,065 accounts, or 22.6%. The calculation covers 17 ROG worlds and 52 other production worlds, all with a snapshot at the same cutoff.
That answers a narrower, measurable version of ‘how many of all Travian players are playing ROG?’ We count accounts visible on tracked maps. A person on two servers counts twice, while an account shared by several people still counts once. Accounts that remain on the map may be inactive. We cannot turn this into a percentage of all unique Travian players worldwide.
ROG supplies 24.6% of the worlds but 22.6% of the accounts in this sample. Its presence across the world list is slightly larger than its share of accounts. That does not establish whether ROG is growing or shrinking: this is one date, and the worlds differ in age, speed and registration history.
| World group | Worlds | Accounts | Share of accounts |
|---|---|---|---|
| Rise of Governors | 17 | 39,872 | 22.6% |
| Other production worlds | 52 | 136,193 | 77.4% |
| Total sample | 69 | 176,065 | 100% |
Case study 2: 1x has the largest share of ROG accounts
The five 1x worlds contain 14,558 accounts: 36.5% of our ROG total. That is the largest speed group. It is not a majority, and it does not mean 1x attracts more new signups: these are surviving map accounts at the cutoff.
The two fastest worlds, international 5x and 10x, together contain 9,494 accounts, or 23.8% of ROG accounts. Those two servers therefore account for almost a quarter of the ROG sample. International-only availability and different round lengths make this a description of the current lineup, rather than a fair test of speed preference.
For planning, choose the pace your alliance can cover consistently. The regional control rules require a majority to survive a 24-hour securing period regardless of server speed. A faster economy does not shorten that window.
| Speed | Worlds | Accounts | Share of ROG |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1x | 5 | 14,558 | 36.5% |
| 2x | 5 | 7,775 | 19.5% |
| 3x | 5 | 8,045 | 20.2% |
| 5x | 1 | 4,484 | 11.2% |
| 10x | 1 | 5,010 | 12.6% |
Case study 3: Europe 1x is the largest ROG world in the sample
rog.x1.europe.travian.com has 6,566 accounts, ahead of international 10x with 5,010 and international 5x with 4,484. These three worlds contain 16,060 accounts: 40.3% of the ROG total. A sizeable part of the sample is concentrated in a few worlds.
A bigger world means more accounts on the map, but it does not measure troop strength, active opponents or the difficulty of a particular region. Use Server Statistics for the world overview, then switch to Regions to inspect the local alliance balance.
| World | Accounts |
|---|---|
| Europe 1x | 6,566 |
| International 10x | 5,010 |
| International 5x | 4,484 |
| International 1x | 3,764 |
| International 3x | 3,603 |
Find a regional opportunity with the Regions tool
Open Travian Regions to try the public demo. Its alliances and villages are fictional, but the dashboard uses the same population and scenario calculations as the signed-in tool. For your own world, choose a Personal or Alliance plan, create an account, add your ROG server and player in Account settings, and select that account in the sidebar.
Select your alliance so shares and growth gaps refer to your group. Sort by Growth to majority to find the smallest population gaps; filter by Ancient Power when a particular bonus is the objective. Compare 24 hours, 3 days, 7 days or 30 days where historical snapshots are available.
Open a region to inspect the alliance balance and village list. Choose the receiving alliance, add population or select several villages with Model conquest. The tool recalculates the top five after the combined scenario. To follow that alliance’s position, select Watch region and choose your private watchlist or, for alliance owners, the shared alliance watchlist. Configure majority-change alerts and optional warnings in Watchlist. Region watches are available only on ROG worlds. Capitals and villages already in the receiving alliance cannot be selected as conquest targets.

Worked example: growth or conquest in Athens?
In the fictional demo, CEDAR has 3,200 population in Athens. The next four alliances have 2,500, 1,200, 900 and 600: a combined 5,200. The top-five total is 8,400, so CEDAR’s share is 38.1%. A sixth alliance’s 400 population is outside that denominator.
If the other alliances stand still, CEDAR needs 2,001 additional population to exceed 50% through growth alone: 5,201 against the others’ 5,200. Exactly 50% is insufficient. This is why subtracting your current population from half the current total gives the wrong growth target: your growth also increases the denominator.
Now model a conquest of EMBER’s 833-population Rivergate 1-2. In the tool’s simplified transfer scenario, CEDAR rises to 4,033 and EMBER falls to 1,667. CEDAR reaches 48.0%, still short of a majority, with 335 more population needed through growth. One conquest narrows the gap much faster because it adds population to your side while removing it from a competitor.
That fictional village stores 480 VP. Under the outside-alliance conquest rule, 75% transfers and 25% is destroyed: 360 VP gained and 120 destroyed. The region’s displayed stored VP total is accumulated stock, not its daily VP production.
Check the in-game position before committing
The official rules use the five largest eligible alliances in a region: at least 4,000 combined population unlocks it, and more than 50% starts the securing process. Population from unallied players and alliances outside that top five does not count. Banned and vacation-mode accounts are also excluded in-game.
Map exports do not reveal those banned or vacation flags, the securing timer, private armies or defensive coverage. Regions therefore estimates population shares; it cannot certify live control or predict a successful attack. The conquest scenario transfers the village’s observed population, so losses during a real conquest can change the result. Confirm eligible population and control status in-game, then scout and coordinate before acting.
Sources, coverage and reproducibility
Prepared on 24 October 2026 from TraviTools’ tracked-world registry and stored player summaries. Of 140 registry entries, 66 were not marked both active and online, two were test worlds (alpha and PTR), and three lacked a current snapshot at the common cutoff. The remaining 69 worlds supplied the account totals. ROG worlds are identified by the rog.x[speed].[domain].travian.com hostname pattern.
Each count uses the same 24 October, 00:01 UTC capture. We exclude account IDs of 1 or lower and NPC tribes Nature and Natars. The summary table has one row per world, capture and player ID. Other production worlds include all non-ROG rulesets in the sample, including community and local worlds; they are not all regular World Wonder rounds.
This is tracker coverage, not a census of every Travian world or unique human. There is no cross-world identity matching or login-activity filter. The same account-world denominator is used throughout; percentages are rounded independently. Server age, speed, deletions and tracker coverage affect comparisons. One snapshot cannot show adoption growth, retention or why someone chose ROG.
Download the world totals and exclusion list to inspect the figures. The Athens example and interface screenshot are explicitly fictional and do not contribute to the participation statistics. Game rules were checked against the official sources linked above.
Common questions
How many Travian players are playing Rise of Governors?
At 00:01 UTC on 24 October 2026, 39,872 of 176,065 accounts across 69 tracked production worlds were on ROG servers: 22.6%. These are account-world records, including inactive accounts still on the map, not unique people or a worldwide census.
Can I try the Regions tool without signing in?
Yes. The public demo uses fictional alliances and villages with the same regional population and scenario calculations as the signed-in tool. Add your ROG server and player after signing in to inspect your own world.
Does a majority estimate mean my alliance controls a region?
No. Snapshot estimates do not include banned or vacation flags or the live securing timer. Confirm eligible population and control status in-game.
