The newest Annual Special is Rise of Governors
As of October 2026, the latest Annual Special is Rise of Governors. Its headline additions are a lobby-wide Season Pass, Governors starting with Cleopatra, and Shards. See our Rise of Governors report and regional planning guide for account statistics and worked examples. It follows Reign of Fire (2025) and Northern Legends (2024). This guide covers official Travian: Legends worlds.
The biggest difference: regular worlds race to a World Wonder; Annual Specials compete for regional Victory Points on an Ancient Europe map. Each yearly name identifies its own ruleset, so special features do not automatically apply to regular worlds.

| Local worlds | Language-community servers with their own features | A local community |
Rise of Governors (2026): lasting progression and crop bonuses
- Season Pass: complete missions on participating worlds to unlock rewards through your lobby account.
- Cleopatra: unlock the first Governor with Season Pass stars. She boosts a village’s crop production and stays unlocked for future worlds.
- Shards: shorten construction, skip videos or add Travian Plus time on participating worlds.
Still a regional game: 87 regions, Victory Points stored in villages, item crafting, troop forwarding and merging, cities and Watchtowers. The new progression features add to that foundation. See the official mechanics for participation rules.
Opening targets: auction access requires 15 completed adventures. You can choose the tribe of your first three settled villages; conquests do not use those choices. Agree each village’s role with your alliance before settling.
Reign of Fire (2025): crafting and stronger hero equipment
- Item crafting: smelt equipment into materials, forge items and refine their rarity.
- Four rarity levels: Common, Uncommon, Rare and Epic, alongside the usual three quality tiers.
- More adventures: twice as frequent, with roughly half the difficulty and hero experience per adventure.
- No naval play: ships and harbours removed; Teutons returned in place of Vikings; map edges could be crossed.
Opening target: Reign of Fire required 20 completed adventures for auction access, compared with 15 in Rise of Governors.
Before upgrading your hero: check which equipment system your world uses. Older guides may assume different item availability and combat bonuses.
Northern Legends (2024): Vikings and naval play
- Vikings replaced Teutons: a different tribe lineup from regular worlds.
- Harbours and ships: coastal villages could move troops and resources by sea, with raid ships for farming.
- Map boundaries: edges could not be crossed.
- Mixed-tribe expansion: choose the tribe of your first three settled villages.
Northern Legends combined these features with regional Victory Points, cities, troop forwarding and merging.
Before choosing a coastal spot: confirm that your world has ships. Reign of Fire removed them, so a Northern Legends strategy does not carry over unchanged.
Is a 3x or 10x server a different game mode?
- Mode sets the rules: victory conditions, map and special mechanics.
- Speed sets the pace: a 3x world has one-third construction and training times, but only twice the normal troop movement speed.
- Returning solo? We recommend a regular 1x world to relearn the game.
- Playing as a coordinated group? Consider a regional special for territorial objectives throughout the round.
Before registering: agree on the exact world, tribes, speed, spawning plan and daily coverage. Use the official speed tables for timings: not every mechanic scales by the server multiplier.
Once you have chosen a world, use the second-village guide for expansion planning and World Statistics to inspect a tracked world’s players and alliances. TraviTools population statistics do not replace the in-game regional Victory Point standings.
Common questions
What is the newest Travian Annual Special?
As of October 2026, it is Rise of Governors, with a Season Pass, Cleopatra and Shards alongside regional Victory Point gameplay.
Do all Travian worlds have Vikings and ships?
No. Northern Legends featured Vikings and ships, while Reign of Fire removed ships and brought back Teutons. Check the named world’s rules before registering.
Which mode should a returning player choose?
We recommend a regular 1x world to relearn the game at a manageable pace. A regional special suits a group that wants to coordinate territorial objectives.
Are Annual Specials separate games?
They are Travian: Legends world variants with their own rules. The yearly scenario name identifies the variant you are playing.
